Hi, I’m astrologer Laurel Berube, and I believe that the real power of astrology isn’t prediction, it’s permission. Permission to reconnect with your true self, under all the pressure, perfection, and pretending that everything’s fine. It’s permission to explore your chart and uncover the parts of you that need to be heard, so you can finally feel seen, safe, and whole.

Today, I lead the Ebb & Flow women’s circle in Calgary and provide one-on-one support through my full-time coaching practice, LUNA. It lights me up to help women feel safe, understood, and fully themselves. But life didn’t always feel this way.

Before astrology, I studied computer science and ended up in IT, a good job with steady hours. On paper, my life looked perfect, but in my body it felt like I was drowning. Every day was a fire to put out. Constant urgency. Never-ending demands. No matter what I did, I felt invisible. Replaceable. For six years, I kept smiling through it. I was drowning, but I hid the truth, even from my husband.

When I finally left my job, I thought things would get better. I thought slowing down, becoming a mom, would give me space to breathe. But high-pressure demands didn’t go away. As a new mother, I could feel the judgment coming at me from every direction: advice from family and friends. I couldn’t make everyone happy, but I was miserable and suffering from postpartum depression. Only this depression didn’t look like sadness. It looked like rage – screaming, slamming doors.

It was exhausting. One day, I put the baby down for a nap, stood at the top of the stairway, and thought, “I can’t do this anymore.” I decided to set strong boundaries and leaned into my parenting group and trusted my intuition. I found something I didn’t know I needed: a space where I didn’t have to hide my feelings. A group without advice or judgment. I could finally speak my truth, and it changed everything.

Later, I began studying astrology to better understand my three kids, to see their patterns, their moods, and how they process the world. I didn’t expect to gain such  a deep understanding of my own patterns, struggles, and the parts of me I’d been hiding. Astrology gave me the language and the permission to express what I’d been feeling all along. It reconnected me with my purpose, and then it all clicked. I could give other women the thing I had needed most: judgment-free support and guidance back to themselves.

And now that’s exactly what I do.
