I can’t go back to who I was.

Age 38-45

Something is changing. Your tolerance has dropped to zero.

You’re done being told you’re too sensitive.
Too much.
Too blunt.
Too emotional.
Too ambitious.

Done explaining yourself.
Done being the one who keeps the peace.
Done carrying everyone else’s emotions while nobody seems particularly concerned about carrying yours.

And the thing is, you’re not necessarily unhappy with your whole life.
You can love your kids and still be absolutely done with some parts of motherhood.
You can love your partner and still be questioning what you have accepted in the relationship.
You can like your job and still know you’re not willing to keep shrinking yourself to fit there

You can be grateful for the life you’ve built and still know that some part of it has to change.

You start noticing things you used to brush off.

  • The reaction that seems bigger than the situation.
  • The resentment that keeps showing up.
  • The conversation you keep having in your head but never actually have.
  • The thing you keep saying you’ll deal with later.

And you start taking inventory.

This stays. This goes.
This still feels like me. This doesn’t.

I’m willing to change this. I’m not willing to tolerate that.

You don’t need to throw everything away.
You need to understand what you’re actually done with.

Why are you reaching your limit with things you used to put up with?
